About

Indiana’s custom solution CHRIS grows to meet current and future needs.

In production since 1996, Indiana’s Criminal History Records Information System (CHRIS) is a statewide system that manages all criminal information for the State of Indiana. This system has been updated over the years to allow for a “lights out” operation for 85% of all arrests that take place in the State of Indiana. This means that from the time a person is booked on charges at a jail, fingerprinted, and final disposition has been made, all data is captured within the records management system without any human intervention.

Since initial implementation, CHRIS has grown to include robust automated interfaces with numerous systems including AFIS, III, Indiana Data and Communication System (IDACS), firearms permits, and case management systems to provide a complete, Custom Solution for collecting, disseminating, and disposing of criminal history information. An E-Commerce web portal application for request, payment processing, and delivery of limited criminal history requests is also a component of the solution.
